What is Botox Cosmetic?
Botox, or onabotulinumtoxinA, is a medication that can be used to treat muscular spasms, excessive underarm sweating, and a minor improvement in the appearance of the face. The majority of individuals, however, utilize it for the last of them.
Cosmetic Surgery is most typically used to smooth out glabellar lines, with the majority of people opting for this cosmetic procedure since the lines on their foreheads make them look fatigued or angry, and can create a lot of anxiety. However, it is frequently used off-label, or without a prescription, to treat a wide range of conditions.
So does Botox work and how?
Wrinkles in the skin usually form right next to a muscle that is close to it, usually under it. Like the forehead where the muscle runs vertically across the head and produces horizontal wrinkles when contracted.
When Botox is injected into the muscles it restricts the impulses from the nerves to the tissue that is causing the wrinkle. Hence the brow lines and other wrinkles are reduced, making the person look more youthful.
Botox treatments typically take about 10 minutes and you should be able to resume whatever you were doing almost immediately.
The treatment starts giving results in about 3 days when you will start seeing a reduction in wrinkles around the injected area. You need to wait for about a fortnight to get maximum results but after that time the effect will start to subside.
